Ever wondered what Google means?

Most of us would have used Google atleast once in our lives.But our busy lives never permit us to look beyond things and appreciate their beauty. Only yesterday, when I had a Google page open in front of me, when for a moment I forgot what I was searching for, I started thinking what this word means.How could people have come up with this word for a search engine.I searched for Google using Google and this is what I found.
The name Google for the internet’s most popular search engine is derived from word Googol.Googol is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The term was coined by Milton Sirotta, nephew of American mathematician Edward Kasner.It was popularized in the book “Mathematics and the Imagination” written by Kasner and James Newman. The term in context to Google as search engine reflects the mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web.
